| Well of St. Brigid |
|
|

Just 2 miles down the road from the Cliffs of Moher toward Liscannor is the
Holy Well of St. Brigid.
This is just alongside the road there. A short hall leads to a hillside spring. In the hall, personal and religious
memorabilia left behind by the faithful Catholic visitors seeking cures and
blessings. According to a plaque here, legend has it the holy well originated in
a field across from the current location. A servant girl desecrated the well
by taking water from it for domestic use and it sprung up across the road
the following morning where it is at present. Many people come from all over
the world to pray at the well and leave some tokens either in thanksgiving
or to seek favors.
